About the Ashram and Kriya Yoga
Kriya Yoga Dhyana Thapovana Sevashramamu is a non-profit organization founded by Sadhguru Sri Swamy Gnanananda Giri Maharaj, as directed by his guru Sri swamy AvaduthaGiri maharaj, to promote authentic Kriya Yoga meditation practices. It has been providing free yoga and meditation sessions since its inception in 2014. Ashram’s main goal is to spread kriya yoga meditation practices even to a layman. Ashram conducts free in-person kriya yoga sessions, while providing free food and accommodation during the sessions. Practitioners could get their questions clarified by directly interacting with swamiji during those sessions.
Ashram has a successful history of teaching Kriya yoga meditation. Ashram’s early practitioners have reported great progress with a short duration of practice. It is not uncommon for many practitioners to report to be able to meditate in a single posture for extended periods of time without any thoughts. Even seniors between 60 to 80 years old have reported the ability to meditate in single posture for upto 6 hours at a time. Spiritual experiences can take many forms, and reports of chakra and kundalini activation are among the many types of experiences that practitioners have reported. Sadhak’s testimonials can be found here
Ashram is committed to providing FREE services in the future, as well. Ashram serves people irrespective of gender, caste, creed, colour, region and religion. The primary motto of ashram is to spread authentic Kriya yoga meditation practices to everyone and anyone
The Four Paths of Yoga in Kriya Yoga Practice
Kriya Yoga is a powerful spiritual practice that combines the essence of four important yogic paths. These paths work together to support the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual development of an individual. By integrating these four yogas, Kriya Yoga helps practitioners move towards inner peace, self-awareness, and balanced living.
1. Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga focuses on physical postures and breathing techniques that help maintain a healthy body and mind. It prepares the body for meditation by improving flexibility, strength, and balance. Regular practice of Hatha Yoga helps remove physical discomfort, improves energy flow, and creates stability for deeper meditation practices.
2. Raja Yoga
Raja Yoga is known as the path of mental discipline and meditation. It helps individuals control their thoughts, improve concentration, and develop inner awareness. This practice guides the mind towards calmness and clarity, allowing practitioners to experience deeper states of meditation and self-control.
3. Manthra Yoga
Manthra Yoga involves the use of sacred sounds or chants to focus the mind and create positive vibrations within the body and surroundings. Repetition of mantras helps purify thoughts, enhance concentration, and bring emotional balance. It also creates a peaceful mental state that supports meditation.
4. Laya Yoga
Laya Yoga is the path of inner absorption and spiritual awakening. It focuses on dissolving distractions and guiding the mind toward deeper awareness of the self. Through this practice, individuals can experience mental stillness, spiritual connection, and inner peace.
Together, these four yogic paths form the foundation of Kriya Yoga, helping practitioners achieve better health, emotional stability, mental clarity, and spiritual growth through consistent practice.
Kriya Yoga is the combination of four main yogas that leads to discovery of the Ultimate True-self.
The Glorius Kriya Yoga Guru, Sri Mahavtar Babaji transmitted his blessings in the form of Kriya Yoga Sutras to the great Saints and Rushis. The Guru lineage continued spreading such a great treasure of this divine knowledge to the layman. One such Guru is Himalayan Yogi Sri Swamy Sadhguru Gnanananda Giri Maharaj. Proper practice of Kriya Yoga, will make the individuals more healthy physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. It eliminates the fears and brings peace into life. Every way you look, there you will find the clarity in the way you understand the things.
Kriya Yoga Dhyana Thapovana Sevashramamu continues to serve as a spiritual learning center and meditation space where individuals from different backgrounds can come together to practice meditation and self-discipline. The ashram focuses on practical spiritual training, allowing practitioners to experience meditation rather than only learning theory.
The ashram environment is designed to support silence, focus, and inner awareness, helping practitioners deepen their meditation practice naturally over time. Regular sessions, guidance from Swamiji, and interaction with fellow practitioners create a supportive spiritual community.
Through its free programs, the ashram emphasizes:
-
Simplicity in living
-
Discipline in practice
-
Consistency in meditation
-
Self-awareness and inner transformation
The teachings of Kriya Yoga at the ashram are shared in a way that is accessible to both beginners and experienced spiritual seekers, making meditation a part of everyday life rather than a complex spiritual concept.
Over the years, the ashram has continued its mission of spreading authentic Kriya Yoga meditation practices, helping individuals experience peace, clarity, and spiritual growth through regular practice.
